Why Jaramillo Landscape?
A poorly designed irrigation system wastes water, overwatering some areas and under-watering others. We design each system around your yard's actual water pressure, soil type, and plant needs — not a generic template.
Idaho summers are hot and dry. An efficient irrigation system isn't a luxury — it's what keeps your landscaping investment alive. Our zone layouts are engineered to deliver the right amount of water to the right areas, reducing your water bill while keeping everything green.
Every system we install includes a full walk-through so you understand how to program and operate it. We're also available for seasonal startup, shutdown, and any repairs that come up over the years.
Our Process
From initial design to final test — a complete installation handled by experienced technicians.
Site Assessment & Zone Planning
We assess water pressure, yard layout, plant types, and sun exposure to plan efficient zones that cover every area without overlap waste.
Design & Material Selection
We design the zone layout, select head types (rotors, spray, drip), and specify all pipe and valve sizes for your water pressure.
Trenching
We trench at the correct depth (below frost line) for all mainlines and lateral lines, minimizing surface disruption.
Pipe, Valve & Head Installation
Main line, zone valves, laterals, and all heads are installed and tested as we go. Backflow preventer is installed per code.
Controller Setup & Programming
The controller is mounted, wired, and programmed with a schedule based on your yard's needs and local watering restrictions.
Testing, Adjustment & Walk-Through
We run every zone, check coverage, adjust heads, fix any issues, and walk you through operating the system before we leave.
Typical Timeframe
2–5 Days
A typical residential irrigation installation takes 2–5 days depending on yard size and number of zones. We work efficiently to minimize disruption to your property.
Cost Factors
- Total yard square footage
- Number of zones required
- Water pressure & main line size
- Head type (spray vs. rotor vs. drip)
- Controller features (standard vs. smart)
- Existing landscaping to work around

Frequently Asked Questions
The number of zones depends on your yard size, water pressure, and plant types. Lawn areas, shrub beds, and drip zones should be separated. A typical residential yard requires 4–8 zones. We determine the right number during the design phase based on your specific property.
Spray heads pop up and spray in a fixed pattern — best for small lawn areas and beds. Rotor heads rotate and cover larger areas more efficiently — best for larger lawn zones. We typically use spray heads in beds and smaller areas, rotors in large lawns, and drip for trees and shrubs to maximize efficiency.
Yes. We install and program smart controllers (Rachio, Rain Bird Smart, Hunter Hydrawise, and others) that connect to your WiFi and adjust watering schedules automatically based on weather data. Smart controllers typically pay for themselves in water savings within the first season.
We work around existing plants, trees, and features carefully. Trenching is narrow and targeted. We replace any sod we disturb and restore the surface after installation. Some minor disruption is unavoidable with trenching, but the finished result will be clean and tidy.
